Logo design for Skidmore College’s Lucy Scribner Library

Steering away from the straightforward impression of libraries and focusing on this particular library, I decided that the patio roof above the entrance area was the most remarkable both architecturally and culturally. Underneath, students come and go, bump into each other, take a break, and during the warmer months, sit on the Adirondack chairs—it’s a hub for both social and academic energy. The logo can look like the ‘tree of knowledge,’ a book opening, or a Wi-Fi symbol. (Lucy Scribner Library used this logo from the spring of 2010 to the fall of 2013.)
